We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer for a contract position with our Tucson, AZ client. The Sr. Systems Engineer will apply intensive and diversified knowledge of design principles, practices and implementation in complex systems and assignments. General responsibilities include design concept generation, participating in design reviews, development and testing to assess performance against design specification; reliability testing, and assessment of system interactions. This role requires he or she be capable of making independent decisions while assisting in the development of manufacturing processes and troubleshooting issues to determine root cause and possible engineering solutions. Responsibilities:

• Practices and mentors in the use of company concepts, policies and procedures, familiar with and follows standard practices.
• Receives general direction and exercises considerable discretion as to work details.
• Participates or leads in efforts to define new components, products or processes.
• Proficient in the creation of early system and architectural diagrams and blueprints from scratch with the system including hardware and software.
• Familiarity with Early Technology Readiness levels and what it takes to advance to the next TRL
• Experience in performing prototype instrument/software/system feasibility testing along with troubleshooting the prototypes when issues arise.
• Experience creating DOEs, executing the DOEs, analyzing the data and results, with both a report and presentation given to a large audience as the final output.
• Leads cross-functional technical teams and specifically will lead and mentor a couple of Junior Systems and Mechanical Engineers.
• Establishes interfaces across other organizational groups.
• Prepares and delivers presentations of project results to others; presents data to larger and more diverse audiences.
• INCOSE Certification Preferred.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a directly related discipline
• 8+ years of related experience
• Demonstrated success in technical proficiency, creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought
• Expert knowledge of engineering principles and concepts
