A Senior Tech Lead / Software Engineer is needed for a contract to hire opportunity with our Dublin, Ohio client. This person must act as the run/build lead for a suite of customer/client facing applications that range in technologies from Java to .Net. The ideal candidate for this role will possess the desire to dig in and understand not only the technology but the business processes underlying the business. This person must ensure solutions are delivered on time and on budget with a high degree of supportability. Once in production this person must ensure systems are monitored and supported using state of the art technologies that allow for maximum uptime for customers, customer service, and distribution centers. Key contributions:
  • Demonstrates knowledge of enterprise and application architecture, software development life cycle, modeling of business processes, application design patterns, and business/functional documents
  • Understands hardware/software platforms including but not limited to operating systems, databases, application servers, web servers, integration technologies and package implementations
  • Demonstrates knowledge of software development techniques and fluency in software languages and application programming interfaces.
  • Builds strong working relationship with the IT run teams and business end-users. Fully understand technical abilities of tools as well as needs of business users and processes
  • Anticipate future needs of business partners and CAH system needs.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance related to planning system architecture, data transformation and data integration.
  • Initiate activities to close gaps and meet future needs before issues arise.
  • Analyzes production system operations using tools such as monitoring, capacity analysis and outage root cause analysis to identify and drive change that ensures continuous improvement in system stability and performance.
  • Plans and executes system implementations that ensure success and minimize risk of system outages or other negative production impacts.
  • Ability to grasp complex issues, even in circumstances where there is incomplete or conflicting information, or conflicting views
  • Ability to steer stakeholders towards a common goal and reach consensus. Ability to arbitrate decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
  • Estimates to high level business requirements and provide options analysis.
  • Develop and support large scale customer facing ecommerce technologies and platforms in a 24×7 environment.
  • Participate in the development of conceptual and logical architectures
  • Design, develop and maintain application architectures that support business requirements
  • Resolve integration and interfacing issues between various back-end systems
  • Optimize application performance and scalability across on-premise and cloud
  • Assist solution and project leaders conduct risk identification and mitigation planning
Technologies:
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages
  • Java/.NET experience highly preferred
  • Experience with relational and open source databases
  • Experience with RESTful web services
  • Proven experience with client-side web development
  • Comfortable working with open-source technologies
  • Proficiency in data modeling and API design
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in Digital application architecture / enterprise architecture, systems integration and development, and package implementation with knowledge of interactive design
  • Firm understanding of web application design and analysis, design patterns, and object-oriented design
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to facilitate technical discussions effectively and to deliver constructive feedback
  • Previous experience with Hybrid development methodologies is preferred; experience must be obtained while executing ecommerce projects with a global and local team
  • Must be competent in using software development tools such as IntelliJ/Eclipse, Git, Jira
  • Experience in multiple web technologies including: Java, .NET
  • Experience with project DevOps and automation technologies: Jenkins, Maven/Gradle, Selenium, automated unit testing
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with team members and management
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years as tech lead or architect
  • 15+ years of experience in application architecture and Java/J2EE software development
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
