We are looking for a Histotechnician to work onsite with our client in Tucson, AZ To support the functions of Laboratory Operations or other histology laboratories in the performance of routine and advanced histotechniques, such as grossing, processing tissue, embedding, microtomy and/or cryotomy, H&E staining, coverslipping, IHC and ISH using Ventana platforms. The Histotechnician will also be tasked with maintaining lab records and equipment, validating new lots of antibody and detection kits, and maintaining quality by controlling tissues, fixative, slides and stains; prepare stains, buffers and reagents. This position requires candidates be skilled in microtomy (quality and speed) and have at least 3 years experience as a histotechnician or histotechnologies in a lab where histotechniques are used. For this role, we are seeking those experienced in routine histotechniques, performing IHC, control material selection and validation, and in making antibody dilutions, validation of new lots of antibodies and detection kits. Qualifications: –        Ability to develop new antibody protocols in accordance with CLIA and CAP requirements. –        Ability to access stained control material for relevance to biomarker.r –        Understanding of CAP compliance. –        Read, analyze, and interpret Operating Procedures, instructions, technical procedures. –        Maintain QC/QA data records. –        Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. –        Computer Skills: Proficient at Microsoft Office, and use of email. –        Graduate of a NAACLS accredited Histotechnology program or HT/HTL Board eligible (via any route specified by ASCP). –        Current HT or HTL (ASCP) certification. –        Evidence that the individual is enrolled in the Certificate Maintenance Program (if applicable) and is continuing education in the field of histology, immunochemistry and insitu-hybridization. –        Associates Degree preferred.
